Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

This policy explains how Homelab Automation accesses, uses, stores, and protects Google user data. The service is a private, single-user, self-hosted automation environment operated for the account owner.

Google data accessed

Depending on the workflow the owner chooses to enable, the service may access Gmail messages and metadata, selected Google Drive files and folders, and Google Sheets spreadsheets and cell data. It requests only the permissions needed by those workflows.

How data is used

Google user data is used solely to execute automations explicitly configured by the account owner—for example, processing a message, moving or reading a file, or reading and updating a spreadsheet. The data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.

Storage and security

OAuth credentials are stored in the owner-controlled, self-hosted automation system. Workflow inputs, outputs, and execution history may be retained on the private homelab when necessary for operation and troubleshooting. Access is limited to the owner, and reasonable technical safeguards are used to protect stored information.

Sharing and transfer

Google user data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. It is transferred only when required to complete a workflow configured by the owner or to infrastructure providers necessary to operate that workflow. Google user data is not used to train or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Retention and deletion

Data is retained only for as long as required by the configured workflow or its execution history. The owner can delete workflow data and stored credentials from the automation system. Google access can also be revoked at any time from the Google Account’s third-party access settings.

Google API Limited Use

Homelab Automation’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
